Product Developer, Jewelry

PAVOI has grown immensely over the past 10 years, becoming a leading 9-figure brand in the jewelry and activewear industries, and our growth shows no signs of slowing down. This means exciting opportunities for our team, and we're looking for passionate, driven individuals to join us. At PAVOI, we're not afraid to question the status quo; we encourage it. We're not just building a brand but a values-driven business where everyone feels empowered to contribute and challenge convention.

We are looking for a Product Developer to own the end-to-end jewelry development process at PAVOI. This is not a support role. You will run the development calendar, brief and manage contract designers, make first-pass costing and sample decisions independently, and keep the pipeline moving from brief to production-ready. You will work closely with our Production Coordinator and report directly to our Head of Product, but the expectation is clear: decisions live with you, escalations come with a recommendation, and leadership is informed, not consulted on routine calls. If you are someone who wants ownership, moves fast, thinks in margin, and has the product instincts to know when something is right and the discipline to kill it when it is not, this role is built for you.

What you'll do:

  • Own the full product development calendar across all jewelry collections, from initial brief through production-ready, including proto rounds, TOP approvals, and milestone tracking
  • Brief, direct, and manage 1-3 contract designers on a seasonal cadence, ensuring creative output is brand-right, commercially viable, and delivered on time
  • Make independent first-pass costing decisions, knowing our margin targets and pushing back on vendors before anything escalates
  • Approve, revise, or kill samples at the sample review stage without requiring leadership involvement in routine decisions
  • Serve as primary point of contact for day-to-day development coordination with internal and external production contacts
  • Identify and surface blockers early, bringing a recommendation with every escalation, not just a status update
  • Develop and maintain clear product briefs and timelines for each collection, connected to margin targets and business outcomes
  • Build and refine the contract designer model, including briefing templates, feedback cycles, and quality standards

You are a perfect fit if you have:

  • 5-8 years of experience in jewelry product development, buying, or merchandising, ideally in a DTC or marketplace-first environment
  • Direct experience briefing and managing contract or freelance design talent
  • Design literacy: you can read a sketch, redline a tech pack, and articulate specifically why a proportion, finish, or detail is wrong
  • Costing fluency: you understand landed cost and gross margin, and you have sat across from jewelry factories in real negotiations
  • A track record of owning a development calendar end-to-end, with milestone accountability from brief to bulk production
  • A commercial editor's mindset: you evaluate product through a sales and margin lens, not just an aesthetic one
  • A communication style that is precise, direct, and calibrated to your audience, whether that is a vendor, a contract designer, or a senior leader
  • The decisiveness to make calls, document them, and move, without waiting for approval on routine decisions

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with BeProduct or a comparable PLM platform
  • Familiarity with Amazon or TikTok Shop marketplaces
  • Experience managing a product line across multiple price tiers, from accessible to premium
  • Experience building a design management model from scratch, including briefing systems, feedback structures, and contract frameworks

Additional Information

PAVOI is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The starting pay range for this role is $90,000 - $130,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years of experience, certifications, and specific location. The starting pay range may differ by location.

The total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus and benefits (which may differ by country).

Vehicle Integration Engineer

TERN

United States

Job Description

We seek a skilled Vehicle Integration Engineer to integrate our GPS-free positioning system into diverse civilian and military vehicles. This role demands expertise in automotive integration, CAN bus, OBD-II, and J1939 protocols, hardware design, PCB development, and establishing a US-based manufacturing pipeline. You’ll analyze vehicle architectures, design hardware solutions, contribute to PCB design, set up manufacturing processes, and ensure seamless Bluetooth data transmission to our Android app. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced startup, brings an entrepreneurial mindset, and communicates effectively in a remote team. US citizenship is a strong preference due to our government and military clients.

Responsibilities:

Vehicle Analysis and Integration: Analyze vehicle hardware and networks through OEM documentation (e.g., wiring diagrams, ECU specifications) to integrate Tern’s GPS-free positioning system across diverse vehicle makes and models, ensuring compatibility with civilian and military architectures.

Hardware and PCB Design: Design hardware components (OBD-II/J1939 connectors, IMUs, ESP32-based systems) and contribute to PCB design, including schematic capture, layout, and validation, to support accurate CAN bus data collection for speed and heading.

Manufacturing Pipeline Setup: Be part of establishing and optimize a US-based manufacturing pipeline for hardware production, ensuring scalability, quality control, and compliance with automotive standards.

Integration Methods: Document and design integration/installation methods (e.g., harnesses, adapters) for vehicle connection points, ensuring clarity for Tern’s hardware and software teams.

Diagnostics and Testing: Perform diagnostics via OBD-II (J1979) and J1939, and conduct rigorous testing to validate system performance in offline scenarios, resolving potential issues.

Algorithm Development: Develop sensor fusion and localization algorithms for dead reckoning and map-matching, using vehicle sensor data to ensure precise positioning without GPS.

Data Transmission: Ensure reliable Bluetooth transmission of speed and heading data to Tern’s Android app, optimizing for low latency and data integrity.

Reverse Engineering Support: Assist in reverse engineering vehicle systems through manual and automated data collection to support integration and troubleshoot compatibility.

Third-Party Evaluation: Test and evaluate third-party products (e.g., sensors, modules) for integration, ensuring compatibility and performance.

Root Cause Analysis: Execute test plans to identify adverse interactions between Tern’s system and vehicles, proposing solutions to enhance reliability.

Customer Support: Resolve complex technical issues through virtual or in-person site visits for customers, including car manufacturers and government/military clients.

Tooling and Improvement: Contribute to software tools for vehicle integration and stay updated on advancements in navigation, sensor technology, and automotive systems.

Data Analysis: Use SQL queries and Python scripts to analyze data (e.g., Google BigQuery) to assess device health and evaluate new functionality.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, Robotics or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5+ years in automotive vehicle systems, including sensors, actuators, control systems, diagnostics, and electrical/communications architecture design and operation.
