By collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and managing sterile compounding, this role plays a vital part in maintaining high standards of care for long-term care patients. This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment and include health, optical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates PHARMACIST Responsibilities:Clinical Oversight:Accept, verify, and dispense prescription medications while monitoring for suitability, compliance, and over-usage patterns. Compounding & Preparation:Prepare sterile solutions and compound medications for internal/external use following strict safety protocols. Supervision:Lead and direct pharmacy technicians and clerks to ensure efficient workflow and accuracy in a closed-door environment. Consultation & Education:Advise on dosage, side effects, and drug interactions; educate on the use of medical devices (e.g., glucose meters, BP monitors). Collaboration:Work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners to identify and resolve drug-related problems. Administrative Integrity:Maintain meticulous, confidential patient records and manage pharmacy inventory levels. PHARMACIST REQUIREMENTS:Education:Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. Attendance:Commitment to mandatory attendance during the first 90 days. Licensure:Active Pharmacist license in the state of California. Technical Skills:Proficiency in sterile preparation and pharmaceutical compounding. Experience:Previous experience in a long-term care (LTC) or closed-door pharmacy setting is preferred.
