Accountant

Key Objectives / Role Responsibilities Performs Advanced and complex accounting duties that require thorough knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles, practices, concepts and requirements that impact the operations and management of the agency. Prepares requisitions, billings and periodic reports to funding sources. Maintains General Ledger by preparing journal entries for month-end close, performing variance analysis, identifying discrepancies, conducting research and conferring with agency leadership and funding source representatives to resolve issues. Reconciles various balance sheet accounts as assigned. Prepares various financial analysis and reports. Assists with the preparation of the annual financial statement audit by maintaining supporting schedules and analyses. Desired Skills & Qualifications Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and and at least four years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
