We're looking for an experienced Storyboard Artist to help shape the future of live entertainment through visual storytelling. In this role, you'll create storyboard sequences for large-scale drone performances that captivate audiences around the world. Working closely with Creative Directors and cross-functional creative teams, you'll transform scripts, concepts, and ideas into compelling visual narratives that define pacing, composition, emotion, and cinematic intent.
The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller who communicates ideas clearly, thrives in a collaborative creative environment, and is excited by the opportunity to help pioneer an entirely new storytelling medium where animation, technology, choreography, and live experiences come together.
As a Storyboard Artist, you’ll be responsible for:
- Create storyboard sequences that transform creative concepts into emotionally engaging visual experiences for large-scale drone performances.
- Translate scripts, creative briefs, and direction into compelling storyboard panels that define pacing, staging, composition, camera language, continuity, and visual storytelling.
- Partner closely with Creative Directors and creative leadership to establish the narrative, emotional impact, and cinematic vision for each production.
- Collaborate through multiple rounds of creative feedback and iteration to refine story, timing, character performance, and overall audience experience.
- Produce storyboards using Photoshop, Storyboard Pro, or similar tools, including timeline management, camera moves, dialogue placement, and sequence organization.
- Present and pitch storyboard sequences clearly and confidently to Creative Directors and internal stakeholders.
- Solve creative storytelling challenges by contributing thoughtful visual ideas, asking insightful questions, and exploring innovative approaches to live aerial storytelling.
- Maintain organized production files while following established workflows, naming conventions, and documentation standards.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while consistently delivering high-quality work on schedule.
- Participate in story meetings, creative reviews, pitches, screenings, and other collaborative production discussions.
- Support additional story development initiatives and special creative projects as needed.
You’ll need to have:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional storyboard experience in feature film, television, animation, gaming, or a comparable visual storytelling environment.
- Exceptional drawing and visual storytelling skills with the ability to communicate emotion, character performance, staging, composition, pacing, camera language, and cinematic clarity through storyboard sequences.
- Advanced proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Storyboard Pro, or similar storyboard software.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with creative, technical, and production teams while communicating ideas clearly across disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret creative direction, incorporate feedback constructively, and iterate quickly within a collaborative production environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet production deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to an established visual style while contributing creative solutions that enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring new forms of storytelling through the intersection of animation, technology, choreography, and live entertainment.
