Controller

Korpack

Bloomingdale, Illinois, United States

ABOUT THE JOB

This is not a role for someone who closes the books and calls it a month. At Korpack, we're looking for a Controller who treats the close as a product with a shipping date, costing as the source of truth the whole company runs on, and manual processes as problems to be automated out of existence. Korpack is a food-grade (SQF) co-packer for leading consumer brands — doubling into 350,000 sq ft, running high-mix production where scrap varies, weights convert to quantities, and margin lives or dies on BOM and routing accuracy in Acumatica.

Our CFO is building the financial engine that scales this company, and this seat is its foundation: accurate, fast, GAAP-compliant financials; costing the leadership team never has to second-guess; and controls that make growth safe. If you've owned a close and made it faster, and you get genuinely annoyed watching someone re-key data a system should have handled — keep reading.

THE JOURNEY

1. Own the Monthly Close

  • Cut close time to 6 business days — accurate, GAAP-compliant, every month. The close has an owner now: you.

2. Own Costing & Inventory Valuation

  • Reliable COGS and margin data through BOM and routing accuracy in Acumatica, with variance analysis that explains — not just reports — what moved.
  • Our world includes catch-weight conversions, reason-coded scrap, and per-work-order costing for brand customers. Costing here is a craft, not a rollforward.

3. Build Internal Controls & Scalable Process

  • Documented procedures, segregation of duties, audit-readiness — the control environment of the company Korpack is becoming, built inside the company it is today.

4. Develop the Team

  • Manage and grow a Senior Accountant and an Intern from day one — rigor, ownership, and a bench that scales with the function.

5. Support the CFO

  • Reporting, forecasting, cash flow visibility, and budget-to-actual analysis that make leadership faster — the CFO's analytical partner, not a report generator.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Close lands in 6 business days and nobody breaks a sweat getting there
  • Leadership quotes your margin numbers in decisions without a second source
  • Variances come with causes attached; surprises get rarer every quarter
  • An auditor could walk in any month and find documented, followed processes
  • Your Senior Accountant is visibly better every quarter — and the manual work list keeps shrinking

THE REQUIREMENTS

Required

  • Hands-on manufacturing cost accounting experience — standard costs, BOMs, routings, variances — not just general accounting at a manufacturing company
  • A proven track record OWNING monthly close (not participating in it), with a history of shortening close timelines you can walk us through
  • Strong ERP implementation/optimization background (NetSuite, Sage, Epicor, or similar — we run Acumatica)
  • Fluency and comfort with AI tools and automation — you question manual processes by reflex and use technology to work smarter, not just harder. We use AI daily at Korpack and expect you to
  • People management and mentorship experience — you'll supervise a Senior Accountant and an Intern from day one

Preferred

  • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Bloomingdale, IL.

THE CHALLENGES

  • Shortening the close while simultaneously building the controls — the plane gets faster while you're rebuilding the engine
  • Costing a high-mix co-packing operation where scrap varies, weights convert to quantities, and every customer's product runs differently
  • Inheriting manual processes in a fast-moving, founder-led company — and having the judgment to fix the right ones first

THE REWARD

$130,000–$150,000 plus performance bonus. Comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and LTD benefits; 401(k) with company match; generous PTO. A CFO who is building — not maintaining — and wants a Controller who builds with him; real budget for tools and automation; and the foundation seat of a finance function scaling into a national platform.

OUR CORE VALUES

We're looking for someone who lives these every day: D – Determined · I – Innovative · S – Smile · R – Responsive · U – Understanding · P – Proactive · T – Teamwork. DISRUPT isn't a poster in our lobby — it's the bar.

FOR THOSE WHO WANT MORE THAN JUST A JOB

Korpack is on a mission to become North America's premier packaging solutions provider — and every decision on that path runs on numbers this seat produces. If you're a builder with an accountant's discipline and an engineer's impatience for manual work — we want to hear from you.

SVP, Operations

Nova Sky Stories

Boulder, Colorado, United States

About this role:

The SVP, Operations will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping how Nova Sky Stories scales globally. This is a rare opportunity to lead the operational engine behind some of the world’s most ambitious drone light experiences — combining aviation precision, live event execution, cutting-edge technology, and creative storytelling at massive scale.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this leader will oversee Production, Flight Operations, and Logistics globally, ensuring teams across the company operate in sync to deliver extraordinary experiences safely, efficiently, and flawlessly around the world.

This role is built for someone who thrives in fast-moving, high-growth environments and loves solving complex operational challenges alongside world-class creative, engineering, and production teams. One moment you may be helping scale systems for international expansion, and the next you may be backstage at a marquee production helping bring a once-in-a-lifetime experience to life.

At Nova, operations is not just about execution — it’s about building the future of a new entertainment medium.

As a SVP, Operations, you’ll be responsible for:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute an integrated global operations strategy spanning Production, Logistics, and Flight Operations, aligned with Nova’s rapid growth trajectory and long-term vision.
  • Own the operational P&L across these functions, including budget development, forecasting, resource planning, and margin accountability.
  • Establish and continuously elevate the operational standards, systems, and safety frameworks that allow Nova to scale rapidly across new markets, show formats, and global productions.
  • Serve as a key executive leader contributing to company-wide strategy, international expansion, operational scalability, and capability development.
  • Build a culture of accountability, innovation, speed, and continuous improvement across globally distributed operational teams.
  • Help shape what world-class operational excellence looks like within an emerging entertainment category.

Production Oversight

  • Lead the global Production organization, ensuring high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery across all show types — from touring productions and residencies to large-scale marquee events.
  • Build scalable production frameworks, operational playbooks, and resourcing models that support Nova’s continued global expansion.
  • Partner closely with Creative, Engineering, Flight Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure operational capabilities align with ambitious creative vision and client expectations.
  • Own financial governance, production forecasting, and operational accountability across the company’s growing production portfolio.
  • Maintain executive oversight of high-profile productions, key stakeholder relationships, and escalated operational matters.
  • Continuously improve production systems, workflows, and execution standards to increase efficiency, scalability, and show quality globally.

Flight Operations Oversight

  • Scale and support Nova’s global Flight Operations organization through leadership of the Director, Global Flight Operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and consistent execution across all operating regions.
  • Champion a proactive, deeply embedded safety culture that remains non-negotiable as the company scales.
  • Ensure operational readiness across equipment, certifications, deployment systems, field execution standards, and operational infrastructure globally.
  • Partner with Engineering and technical teams to help integrate new technologies, automation, and deployment innovations that keep Nova at the forefront of the industry.
  • Support the evolution of operational systems capable of scaling alongside increasingly complex global deployments and productions.

Cross-Functional Integration

  • Serve as the connective tissue across Production, Logistics, and Flight Operations, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment throughout the full show lifecycle.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Creative, Legal, and Commercial teams to translate company strategy into scalable operational execution.
  • Represent Nova in regulatory discussions, strategic partner conversations, industry forums, and key operational relationships globally.
  • Lead post-show review processes and operational retrospectives, driving systematic improvements across teams, workflows, and execution standards.
  • Bring clarity, alignment, and operational rigor to highly dynamic, fast-moving environments where priorities can shift quickly.

Team Development & Organization

  • Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional operational leaders and team members across Production, Flight Operations, and Logistics globally.
  • Build the organizational structures, leadership layers, and development frameworks required to scale operations alongside company growth.
  • Coach and mentor senior operational leaders, helping develop the next generation of leadership at Nova.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that balances accountability, creativity, operational discipline, and innovation.
  • Help build an organization that can scale globally without losing agility, speed, or execution quality.

You’ll need to have:

  • 15+ years of progressive operational leadership experience, including senior roles spanning event production or equivalent complex field operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-functional operations teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Deep knowledge of live event or entertainment production at scale, including client-facing and multi-market operations.
  • Proven ability to build and scale organizational systems, SOPs, and operational frameworks across distributed teams.
  • Executive-level financial acumen, including ownership of multi-million dollar budgets and operational P&Ls.
  • Exceptional leadership presence—able to inspire teams, build trust across functions, and represent Nova with clients, partners, and regulators.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, and be present at live show operations.

It’s a plus if you have:

  • Direct experience in drone light shows, aerial entertainment, or UAS operations.
  • Background spanning both technical/aviation and creative/entertainment disciplines.
  • Experience leading operations through a period of significant company scaling or international expansion.

What will make you successful:

You lead through clarity and calm, making sharp decisions under pressure while keeping teams aligned and motivated.

You hold both the strategic view and the operational detail simultaneously, knowing when to zoom out and when to get in the weeds.

You build systems that scale, not just for today's show, but for the company Nova is becoming.

You're equally at home in a boardroom, on a flight operations debrief, or on-site at a marquee event.

You bring genuine passion for aviation, live experiences, and the kind of work that stops people in their tracks.

Salary Range: $265,000 - $305,000 USD

At Nova Sky Stories, we're building something that has never existed before—and we want our team members to share in that journey. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer:

VP, Global Brand Partnerships

Nova Sky Stories

Burbank, CA, United States

About this role:

We are seeking a rare kind of operator — a VP, Global Brand Partnerships to architect and own Nova Sky Stories’ global brand revenue engine.

This role sits at the center of how Nova scales — transforming our drone light shows into one of the most premium, in-demand brand storytelling platforms in the world. You won’t just grow sponsorship revenue; you’ll redefine what brand partnerships look like in experiential media.

You will design and build Nova’s global sponsorship ecosystem from the ground up — defining the commercial model, creating scalable systems, and unlocking repeatable revenue across markets. At the same time, you’ll personally lead and close our most strategic, high-impact partnerships with global brands and agencies.

This is not a traditional sales leadership role. It’s a builder role.

You’ll operate as a strategic counterpart to the CEO and CFO on marquee deals, while constructing the infrastructure, team, and playbooks that enable exponential growth across every tier of the business.

As a VP, Global Brand Partnerships, you’ll be responsible for:

Define Nova’s Role in Culture

  • Identify the cultural moments, properties, and environments where Nova becomes a defining presence — from global sporting events and music festivals to fashion weeks, marquee city moments, and seasonal spectacles
  • Shape where and how Nova shows up across the global cultural landscape, embedding the platform into high-impact experiential moments
  • Proactively originate relationships with global brands, agencies, and partners — positioning Nova as a must-have platform before formal deals exist
  • Establish the strategic framework for brand participation, including category exclusivity, partnership tiers, and brand standards that protect long-term premium positioning
  • Build the narrative, data, and performance storytelling that translates cultural relevance into measurable brand impact

Lead Enterprise & Strategic Partnerships

  • Originate, structure, and close Nova’s most strategic global deals — including multi-market, multi-year, and category-defining partnerships
  • Partner directly with the CEO and executive team on marquee accounts and high-stakes negotiations
  • Own senior relationships with CMOs, agency leadership, and key IP/rights holders
  • Structure complex, multi-party agreements across brands, Nova, and external stakeholders

Build Scalable Global Properties

  • Define, build, and evolve Nova’s shows into scalable global “properties” with clear positioning, audience, and long-term brand value
  • Design the commercial architecture for each property — including sponsorship inventory, rights, integrations, and tiered partnership models
  • Ensure each property is differentiated, culturally relevant, and commercially compelling
  • Identify and secure long-term partners aligned with both creative vision and revenue strategy
  • Partner cross-functionally (creative, production, leadership) to embed monetization into the foundation of every show
  • Continuously refine property strategy based on performance, partner feedback, and market opportunity

Establish Commercial Discipline & Scale

  • Define pricing strategy, category rules, and deal governance to maintain premium positioning at scale
  • Build approval frameworks and guardrails for partnership selection and non-standard deals
  • Create the systems that enable consistent, repeatable global revenue growth

Own Activation, Retention & Long-Term Value

  • Lead the full partner lifecycle — from activation through renewal — ensuring world-class execution across global shows
  • Build measurement and ROI frameworks that clearly demonstrate value to partners and drive long-term retention
  • Ensure Nova becomes a core platform within brand storytelling strategies
  • Continuously improve partnership performance through data, insights, and creative collaboration

Build the Team & Function

  • Build and lead a high-caliber, senior partnerships team, expanding across regions and categories as the business scales
  • Design an organization that supports both enterprise deal-making and global sponsorship execution
  • Establish a culture of commercial excellence, accountability, and strategic thinking
  • Partner closely with creative, production, and executive leadership to align storytelling with monetization

You’ll need to have:

  • 12–15+ years of progressive experience in brand partnerships, business development, or commercial leadership — within agencies, brand-side organizations, or properties that have built partnership models from the ground up
  • A proven track record of building and scaling multi-market or global revenue streams, ideally across experiential, live entertainment, sports, media, or adjacent industries
  • Demonstrated success structuring and closing large-scale, multi-year, multi-market partnerships with global brands, agencies, or enterprise clients
  • Deep, senior-level relationships with CMOs, global brand leaders, agency executives, and key decision-makers — with the ability to originate opportunities and accelerate deal cycles
  • Experience operating at the intersection of brand, media, IP, and live/experiential environments, including complex, multi-stakeholder ecosystems
  • Strong commercial systems thinking — with the ability to design and scale pricing models, sponsorship architecture, deal governance, and revenue operations
  • Executive-level commercial acumen, with ownership or significant influence over $10M+ revenue streams, pipelines, or portfolios
  • Proven ability to lead through influence across cross-functional teams (creative, production, operations, legal, finance) in high-stakes deal environments
  • Experience building and leading high-performing partnerships or commercial teams, ideally across regions or global markets
  • Sharp strategic judgment — able to balance long-term platform building with near-term revenue delivery
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, global environment, with frequent travel and senior external engagement

It’s a plus if you bring:

  • Experience in experiential media, live entertainment, sports sponsorship, or large-scale touring properties
  • A background working with — or within — global brand organizations, holding companies, or leading agency networks
  • Exposure to IP-driven partnerships, including film, entertainment franchises, licensed media, or rights-managed properties
  • A track record of building new revenue categories or monetizing emerging platforms

What Success Looks Like (Year 1+):

  • Establish Nova as a top-tier global experiential sponsorship platform — competing directly with the world’s leading live entertainment properties
  • Secure multiple category-defining partnerships with global brands across touring and IP-driven shows
  • Build a repeatable, scalable global revenue engine with clear pricing discipline and consistent deal structure
  • Drive meaningful growth in sponsorship revenue per show and expand long-term contracted value across the portfolio
  • Create a best-in-class activation and measurement system that delivers clear ROI, high partner satisfaction, and strong renewal rates
